Sergio Ramos and Marcelo have the opportunity to lift their 23rd trophy as Real Madrid players, as Los Blancos look to win the Supercopa de Espana.
Last year’s LaLiga Santander title allowed the duo to pull in front of Manolo Sanchis’ 21, so now they can equal Paco Gento’s record of 23 titles with success this month.
However, the record comes at a time when both players are in possibly their most difficult time experienced at the club.
Marcelo has lost his place in the starting line-up to Ferland Mendy and has only played seven times, with his level of performance falling far from of his best.
The Brazilian left-back, who has a contract until 2022, has only been on the winning team just twice this season, losing four games and drawing one.
