The US continues to stand with Haiti

May the lessons learned that day inspire us so that we can make renewed efforts that can lead to a better future for the Haitian people.”

Pap Jazz Festival is a go

On Jan.9, the Fondation Haiti Jazz in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Communication officially launched the 14th Edition of the Port-au-Prince International Jazz Festival was (PAPJAZZ). Scheduled for Jan. 18-25, 15 countries including Germany, Belgium,US, and the Netherlands will participate. Dee Dee Bridgewater, Take 6, Ranee Lee, Belo, Antonio Serrano, Eddy Francois, Jonathan “J-Perry” Perry are some of the artists who will perform during this exciting week. Canada is the honorary country this year.

President Jovenel Moïse calls for reforms

Jean Elie Gilles and his wife were at their home in Rue Dalencourt in Canapé Vert on Jan. 12, 2010. When the earth shook, Jean Elie believed that a truck had driven through his house.
“But when I heard the cry of the earth, I knew that wasn’t a truck. The cry of the earth when an earthquake strikes is so powerful it sounds like thousands of women crying loudly in pain. One can never forget the cry of the earth, and many people heard it. I believed that I was the only one. But, when recounting my experience that day other people heard it too and many referred to it as ‘goodoo goodoo.’
